Wow, Saturday was amazing! With new big sound system that we pushed right to it's limit, and a completely packed house experiencing the signature Sound Advice vibe that filled the place, the crew rocked the place, filled wall to wall from start to finish. If you were there to experience it for yourself you know exactly what we're talking about.  Special decorations from Rad'core set the tone for the funky Gangsta Boogie Nights theme, including a massive Disco Batman symbol to show that wherever you need a good time, you can shine a light up at a disco ball in the sky calling for your own personal batman named pete wilde to save you from musical crime and fix the injustice of an empty dancefloor.

With the sound advice crew behind the decks, and and the amazing crowd in front of the speakers, we got all shared an experience that won't be soon forgotten. We got to see an amazing range of vintage late 70's and early 80's boogie nights outfits. From platinum blond Afros  to roller skates, short shorts to brightly colored suits.. the dance floor was a sight to behold. As the night went on, as we were all transported back 30 years to the time when disco moved forward into modern dance music, and the age of electronic music and dj's was born, which as it happens, is the time when the guest of honor, our own Pete Wilde, came into this world. coincidence?

After being warmed up by Sonny Chiba with a set which defined everything that makes us proud to call him one of our own, we got to hear Big Delicious, Conguru, and the Wilde one himself explode their signature sound onto the packed dance floor for everyone to see. They turned the dial to 11, and lit such a fire under peoples feet to dance that the birthday boy wound up having to get halfway to his birthday suit, taking off his shirt halfway through his set barely able to keep his cool, dancing around behind the decks with a level of energy rivaled only by his most legendary performances throughout the years. He shared it with everyone in the room, as throughout his set we all got to hear a small sample of the tunes you can hear by grabbing his latest mix release.. Before all was said and done at this amazing night honoring Pete Wilde's many years, both in our lives and behind the decks, Paradigm Theorem stepped up, and brought it home in the way that nobody else in the world can, carrying the vibe through till the very last beat.

The night ended right at closing time with a still full dance floor, and the whole sound advice crew.. seemingly all at once looked each other in the eye, and all realized just how great we have it. We love being involved in such an enthusiastic and growing scene with people who are as passionate about hearing and dancing to the music of our age as we are about playing it for you. That moment and realization was just a bright, shiny, and oh so juicy cherry for us to have sitting atop the desert at the end of one of the best club nights Calgary has seen yet in 2010. Big thank you to all the fans and friends who came out to show the love. We do everything we can with one goal at the core of it all, and that's to put a smile in your heart, and for everyone on the other side of the decks has a good time.. To say the least, everyone under the roof delivered exactly that, and the whole Sound Advice crew makes you a promise that we're going to keep up our end moving forward. Every time you get to hear some Sound Advice, whether at our weekly nights, our special events, or if you catch any of us representing the crew and our scene throughout western Canada, we promise to deliver by doing our part behind the decks, and keep on giving you the Sound Advice you deserve to hear.
